MISC:The Central African Republic is landlocked and located in almost
precisely the center of Africa. Poaching has diminished its reputation
as one of the last great wildlife refuges. Its climate is tropical;
hot, dry winters; mild to hot, humid, wet summers. 3% of the land is
arable. 85% of its work force is engaged in agriculture. Became
independent 13 August, 1960. Member of UN since 1960.
